Why SEO And Search Engine Ads Are A Smart Move.
Here’s Why Paying For Your Traffic Is A Smart Move
There are quite a few success stories about businesses making a good bit of money on the internet. There are also even more of stories of failures. Many businesses have launched an internet based enterprise but only a handful have succeeded.
Is this through luck? No. It takes good business sense, a lot of help, and a team effort. Most importantly, it is the eagerness to succeed, the determination to learn, and the willingness to put in a lot of hard work that pays off in success.
A Basic Idea
Let’s start out with a basic idea. Every business needs customers, without them you wouldn’t have anyone to buy your products. In the internet world traffic is the walk-in customer. The more traffic you have the more people have the opportunity to sell your products to.
But like any business, not everyone that goes in will buy, but the greater of number that do come in to browse your merchandise, the greater the chance that people that will buy your products.
Many of these success stories get their traffic by advertsing with search engines. Yes that’s right; you have to spend money to make money. Targeted advertising is the key. The more customers that know your site exists; the more that will go to your site. These paid services can boost your web traffic significantly.
For example, a Google Adwords advertisser places ads on the Google.com search results page and on the Google Adsense content network. These ads are displayed to millions of users everyday, but it differs from traditional advertising. Ads are shown based on what the search engine user is looking for – targeting advertising.

What is SEO?
Many site owners invest considerable time and money on site design and structure without any thought as to how they will be “seen” by the search engine algorithms. There are certain elements in each site which the search engines diagnose in order to determine its value for specific keywords. The higher the value, the better your site position on the results page.
SEO has two types of site optimizations. Site-based optimization (also known as on-page optimization) includes various improvements in your site code that prepare it for evaluation by the search engine’s algorithm. These site optimization processes will help search engines understand what your site is about, in addition to assisting search engines to understand which search terms are relevant to your service or product.
The second type of site optimization is off site optimization, which includes the important link building process. The Internet is a web due to the fact that sites link to one another. When other sites link to your site, it means that your site is valued by others. The search engine algorithm analyzes carefully those important “recommendations” and takes them into account when determining the importance of your site. The link building process includes finding sites related to your site and asking them to vote for you.
The whole process of SEO eventually enables you to increase your site ranking and visibility. By gaining targeted traffic, i.e., visitors who actually search for your services and products, you will automatically increase your customers and sales.
What is the importance of my search engine ranking?
Search engines are a great marketing tool. Nearly 80% of traffic to the average site comes from search engines. 30 million visitors enter queries in Google.com every day. Anyone arriving at your site through a search engine is looking for a particular product or service and thus is a potential client. There are three major players in the search engine market: Google, Yahoo and Microsoft Live. Each has a unique site positioning algorithm that analyzes and sorts the results by specific order.
When someone types a specific query in the search engine and your site appears in the results for that query, there is much greater probability that he will click on your site. Most searchers don’t browse beyond the third page. Recent research has shown that most of users, if they click, will click on one of the first seven listings in a search engine.
As a site owner, your target is to get into the top 30 results for specific queries. The higher your position in the search engine result pages, the more traffic you will get. You may have invested in professional and beautifully designed site, but if it is not ranked high on search engines, you are losing potential clients to competitors that have a higher ranking.
